Head of Legal Department

The Head of Legal Department will coordinate a work of legal team and to provide leadership in the delivery of reliable, accurate, timely and well-informed advice to the Department and the Executive Team on legal issues and the potential legal implications of various corporate strategies and business initiatives.The Head of Legal Department will provide key legal expertise, research and writing, training, policy development and standard-setting, and monitoring new developments. The main responsibility is to ensure the provision of high-quality legal services of the department. He/She is also responsible for management and development of other legal staff.

The Head of Legal Department must possess strong legal experience and initiative, as well as excellent management and leadership skills with strong business mind-setting. This position require implementing initiatives and processes in order to set standards and reinforce a culture of integrity, quality, ethical behavior and responsibility across the business.

Responsibilities:

  • • Developing and leading corporate legal strategy to promote and protect the company's matters;

  • • Overseeing delivery of legal services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies and priorities;

  • • Provides legal advice and supervises the review, negotiation and drafting of agreements, contracts, and other legal instruments;

  • • Contributes to review and drafting of new, or new applications of, legal instruments, policy, guidelines and systems;

  • • Helping to ensure appropriate legal policies and practices are in place to manage the legal obligations and legal risks of the Department effectively;

  • • Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advise on possible legal issues;

  • • Supervising and organizing work and leading projects;

  • • Contribute to standard-setting, through participating in meetings, drafting work and promoting international standards;

  • • Supervises and participates in preparing legal publications of the unit;

  • • Maintain current knowledge of alterations in EU legislation;

  • • Stay current on financial regulations globally that could impact the business model and further growth opportunities;

Requirements:

  • • Three to five years of previous experience in legal consulting in the area of commercial law, business or corporate law;

  • • Master’s degree in international law or related areas;

  • • Law License;

  • • Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures;

  • • Pragmatic, solution-focused approach with well developed perceptions and judgement;

  • • Excellent speaking and writing skills in English, including the ability to draft material in a variety of styles, for different audiences;

  • • Strong organization and management skills;

  • • Ability to identify and remedy complex legal issues;
